Caring contractors who are currently building the new Llys Raddington extra care housing scheme in Flint town centre have donated £60 to a local scheme supporting former homeless people to provide a three course Christmas feast.

Representatives from Anwyl Construction Ltd visited the Greenbank Villas Supported Living scheme in Church Street, Flint, this week where they met with residents and staff and presented them with £60 for the Christmas meal.

“This is an absolutely brilliant gesture and will help to make Christmas a special time for our residents,” said Debbie Davies, Senior Project Worker at Greenbank Villas which is a 10-bed scheme managed by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, part of the Pennaf Housing Group.

Pennaf are working in partnership with the Welsh Government and Flintshire County council construction the new Llys Raddington extra care housing scheme for people aged 60 and over where Anwyl Construction are the contractors.

Simon Rose, Commercial Manager for Anwyl said:  “As part of our commitment to the Considerate Construction Scheme we work closely with the wider community and when we heard about the great work and commitment of the team at Greenbank Villas we were delighted to donate £60 so that the residents there can have a real treat over the festive period.”

Louise Blackwell, Community Development Officer at Clwyd Alyn added: “We’d like to thank all the team at Anwyl especially Natalie Palframan, their Communications Coordinator, for helping with the arrangements. This is just one of a number of excellent initiatives that Anwyl’s are undertaking supporting the communities where they are working.”
